Perfect Imperfection is the Greatest Gift

This may be the greatest lesson we’ve learned since joining the Launch You community. Without accepting perfect imperfection as the goal, we have observed people become stuck. People are afraid to do anything at all. This applies to every part of the online journey.  Whether you’re creating a written ad or video ad, a blog, a vlog, a website, perfect imperfection applies.

Perfection Will Keep You Stuck

This took us a while to accept.  In the short-term is was easier to do something over and over trying to make it perfect. Putting ourselves "out there" was scary. We were exposed. Many times it was safer and easier to keep acquiring knowledge about creating a video than actually create one!

Balancing Three Parts of the Online Journey

Early on in our journey, we heard Stuart Ross speak about his philosophy for success as digital entrepreneurs.  It's made up of three parts: learn - do - teach.  All three of these components need to be in balance.  

Life Begins Outside Our Comfort Zones

Staying stuck in the modules, for example, without "doing" and putting yourself "out there" , will not get you where you want to go. Launch You provides the platform and the opportunity to exercise these three parts of the online journey.

Two Things Contributing to Success

In a recent mastermind group, we were asked to share two things we believe contributes to our success.  Immediately we thought focus and consistent daily action.  Sounds simple, doesn’t it? We believe, without accepting “perfect-imperfection” as the goal, focus and daily action won't happen.

The Inner Voice Will Sabotage Your Success 

Let us explain. It’s hard to remain focused when you’re learning new skills if a voice in your head keeps telling you, you’re too old, or too “something” …. tired, stupid, broke, overwhelmed… you pick.  This voice, if we let it, will steal or sabotage your success and keep you standing still.  

How to Silence Your Inner Voice

The way to silence this little voice it by taking consistent action.  In our experience, by pushing through barriers, that little voice telling you, “you can’t” will shift to “hey you can”, with consistent focused action.  With “perfect imperfection" as your goal, you’ll surprise yourself and silence that pesky inner voice at the same time.

Without Action Nothing Happens

Whether you’re contemplating starting your online journey, creating your first website, or your first video ad, know without action,  nothing happens.  You will be in the exact same place five years from now that you are now, wishing you had had the courage to get out of your comfort zone.
