Building Your Brand Starts With Knowing What You Stand For

Building your brand starts with knowing your values. You will connect with people with similar values when you know how your values come across to others. When people see you online, how do people feel? Building your brand means not only providing practical information, it also means understanding how people feel emotionally when they see you and hear you?

Staying Genuine and Being Authentic

A recent article mentions between 70 - 93% of what we say is non-verbal.  Only 7% of what we say is with words, 55% through body gestures and 38% through tone of voice. The same is true online. With one click or tap, if online marketers aren't being authentic, people are gone. People have a couple seconds to make a first impression online. Being real and authentic is more important than ever before. Make those precious seconds count.  Be yourself!

Decide Who You Would Like To Attract

We all want to work with people we like and trust. It starts by attracting people who share similar values. First, figure out your values. Before you post anything, ask yourself ... is this post aligned with my values? Is it aligned with how I want to be perceived online? Will my post strengthen my personal brand? If something were to happen to me, does this post reflect how I would like to be remembered?

Learning How to Be Online Takes Time and Practice

If we waited until we had it all figured out before we posted articles online, we would still be waiting. Learning to be online is a process and we have found we learn the most by doing. We have learned more by making mistakes, than by getting things right. Being authentic is something we value greatly. It's taken practice and a lot of courage to be authentic online.
