Consistency and Action Everyday Creates Results
Everyday Consistency Creates Momentum
Reaching goals is all about action and everyday consistency. When we first started our online business it felt like we were pushing an enormous boulder up a very large hill. The end seemed like it was nowhere in sight because the boulder was ominously blocking the view. Every inch seemed like a kilometre and sometimes we felt like we were rolling backwards.
"Keep Going!" …. They Said
Leaders on mastermind calls assured us one day everything would make sense. “Just keep going” they told us, over and over. So we did. We kept inching forward and slowly but surely the pieces started to fall into place. Eventually, phrases and concepts that once sounded like a different language made sense.
Consistent Action Works
Taking consistent action everyday will get you where you want to go. It seems simple but it works. Consistency of action is best described by Jim Collins in his book Good to Great where he talks about the Flywheel Effect.

What's the Flywheel Effect?
Excerpts from Good to Great:
Getting a 5000 Pound Flywheel to Rotate ... Fast
Picture a huge, heavy flywheel—a massive metal disk mounted horizontally on an axle, about 30 feet in diameter, 2 feet thick, and weighing about 5,000 pounds. Now imagine that your task is to get the flywheel rotating on the axle as fast and long as possible.
It Takes Persistent Effort to Complete One Turn
Pushing with great effort, you get the flywheel to inch forward, moving almost imperceptibly at first. You keep pushing and, after two or three hours of persistent effort, you get the flywheel to complete one entire turn.
With Continued Effort It Makes a Second Turn ... and Another ... and Another
You keep pushing, and the flywheel begins to move a bit faster, and with continued great effort, you move it around a second rotation. You keep pushing in a consistent direction. Three turns ... four ... five ... six ... the flywheel builds up speed ... seven ... eight ... you keep pushing ... nine ... ten ... it builds momentum ... eleven ... twelve ... moving faster with each turn ... twenty ... thirty ... fifty ... a hundred.
Then at Some Point - Breakthrough!
Then, at some point—breakthrough! The momentum of the thing kicks in in your favor, hurling the flywheel forward, turn after turn ... whoosh! ... its own heavy weight working for you. You’re pushing no harder than during the first rotation, but the flywheel goes faster and faster.
The Compound Effect Kicks In!
Each turn of the flywheel builds upon work done earlier, compounding your investment of effort. A thousand times faster, then ten thousand, then a hundred thousand. The huge heavy disk flies forward, with almost unstoppable momentum.
All The Pushes Added Together Creates Success
Now suppose someone came along and asked, “What was the one big push that caused this thing to go so fast?” You wouldn’t be able to answer; it’s just a nonsensical question. Was it the first push? The second? The fifth? The hundredth? No! It was all of them added together in an overall accumulation of effort applied in a consistent direction.
Starting an Online Business Requires the Flywheel Effect!
It’s all about consistency. Imagine you are working on your online business consistently and then one day you tell yourself you're too tired, busy or overwhelmed to keep going. So you take a break. One day goes by, and then another and another with no action towards your business. Before you know it your business stops. Re-gaining momentum seems harder because you have to start all over again.

We are digital entrepreneurs who took a courageous leap to start our online business. We have owned an executive recruitment company for over twenty years. The industry is being rapidly disrupted by technology. As a result of the skills we have learned our recruitment business is 100% virtual. Both of our businesses allow us flexibility to work when and where we want and do the things we enjoy.
