Digital Marketing in the Sky

We are working on our digital online business 38,000 feet in the air. This may not seem like a new concept, people work on planes all the time, it seems different now. Work doesn’t seem like work anymore.  I used to think a destination was a number of movies away and now I think, a destination is a blog or two away.  It’s funny how our perspective has changed since becoming digital entrepreneurs. Now the sound of the engine, the lull of people’s voices, children crying in the background is noise that sparks creativity.  Wow, who knew?

Quiet Reflection

Heading to Toronto for a Family Reunion, I am reflecting on how the world has changed and continues to change at such a rapid pace.  On a previous flight decades ago I was travelling back to Ontario from Vancouver to visit family. Unlike this time, working quietly with Bob by my side, I was with my former husband and our 4 daughters were all under the age of eight.

A Kind Stranger

As always, flights were hectic, we spent much of our time to the horror of other passengers I’m sure, walking up and down the aisles to keep the kids amused and tear-free. On that particular flight this nice Steward must have thought I needed a break.  He very kindly asked me if I would like to meet the Pilots.  I eagerly agreed, not because I wanted to leave my former husband to fend for himself with our four daughters, but because I believed this was an opportunity of a lifetime.  Oh my goodness, if I only knew how true that was! The Steward introduced me to the Pilots and then asked if I would like to wear earphones and listen to what happened behind the scenes as the plane landed at Toronto Pearson Airport.  I was in disbelief of my good fortune as I sat behind these two pilots who with ease landed this magnificent bird from the sky.  I remember looking over and seeing the refection of our airplane within the aura of the sun, it is a picture that will be with me forever.

The Power of Kindness

That kind Steward will never know the impact that experience had on me.  Now sitting here, contemplating, looking at the closed locked door the Pilots are sitting behind, I am reminded of how impactful some of life’s moments can be. These moments happen for reasons we may never understand and are they are  truly moments in time that may only happen once and for this, I am thankful I seized the moment.

Life Can Change in an Instant

Our lives changed that day when I watched Youtube and learned about Six Figure Mentors.  By taking the time to listen to what a stranger had to say, and having the courage to learn how to become digital marketers, here we are blogging 38,000 feet up in the air and happy about it.  It’s a gift to think back in time and reflect on life experiences.  It is after all, these life experiences that create the unique fabric that contribute to who we are.
