How to Stay Positive in This Difficult Time

Sometimes Nothing Seems Real .....
Often when we look both ways as we cross the street, with no car in sight, we have a feeling of eeriness. Standing in a lineup of 30 people waiting to go grocery shopping, or following arrows down the grocery aisles …… we know we are in times we will remember forever.
Accepting Change is a Big Part of This New Reality
How are you remaining positive in such uncertain times. If you are like us, we accept that change is a part of life, but that doesn’t mean we like it. Everyday, all we need to do is put on the TV to know the whole world is in a fluid state of change. Most people are so far outside their comfort zone, it’s difficult to remember that old comfortable feeling.
Three Things We Do to Stay Positive
Remain Grateful and Celebrate the Little Things
Although the life we knew no longer exists, we are thankful for the things around us that remain the same. Today, sitting in our family room deciding what to write about today, we heard in the distance one our little granddaughters yelling our names from the road. At first we thought we were imagining it, and then we jumped up, went running out the front door and there was our daughter and granddaughter waiting to see us from a distance. We are grateful for the little things, like having a “sighting” from a far.
We are enjoying little things like watching hummingbirds at the feeder. Noticing the simple things help us to remain positive.
Maintaining a Sense of Humour
This is a difficult situation. COVID-19 will leave despair and sorrow in it’s wake. When we are out in the world wearing masks and gloves it’s serious. Seeing one another in a mask is so strange, it makes us smile. We find it’s easier to stay positive when we see humour in the moment. We’re learning the art of smiling with our eyes. It’s like learning a whole new way of communicating.
People Model Some Creative Ways to Stay Safe:

A Time to Reflect and Grow Stronger
This moment in time feels like it will last forever. We receive some hopeful news in one moment and devastating news in the next. We remain positive by having faith and hope this will end. We don’t know when and we don’t know what the future holds. The world has paused for a while. Perhaps this is a time for all of us to take a look at where we are in life.
Life Begins At the End of Your Comfort Zone ~ Neale Walsch
We’re all out of our comfort zones anyway. In this time of pause, we hope you will take advantage of the gift of time we have all been given to reflect. When the world starts up again, it may take a while, but it could move even faster to make up for lost time.
Build your strength now.
