Write a blog??? How can you write a blog if you don't know what a blog is! That’s where we were when we started our online business. We found ourselves three months into our online journey wondering .... what's a blog? How could we become bloggers? It was mind boggling at first .... or is that mind "bloggling??!"
Where Did This Odd Word "Blog" Originate?
When we googled the word “blog” we discovered the term “web log.” Web log was put together and renamed “weblog”. It was from the word “weblog” that the word “blog" was born. To further complicate things, a “blogger” is someone who blogs or in other words, writes content for an article or blog post.
Buckle Up ..... Have You Heard The Word “Vlog?”
Get this! Vlog is another one of those made-up words. If you’re like most people, you’ve heard the word “vlog” and you’ve ignored it. Now that you’re interested in learning more about what it takes to be online, suddenly you’re hearing things that used to go right over your head.
Blog and Vlog Are Well Used Words In Internet Language
A vlog is a "video blog." Put video and blog together and just like "web and log" becoming blog ..... video and blog becomes vlog! Vlogs are created when you upload a video of yourself or an event and publish it within your blog post, like we did, just above here!

Inspiration For Your Blog Is All Around You!
Like most things, the toughest part of writing a blog is getting started. Inspiration is all around us. As a blogger, be aware of your surroundings, remain in the moment. You may hear someone say something that sparks an idea. An article, a podcast, a book you're reading can be a starting point. We became much more present when we started blogging. Blogging is a gift that has evolved into a passion over time. Maybe these pictures will inspire an idea. Inspiration comes from unexpected places.
Start With Your Keyword or Keyword Phrase In Mind
Let’s get back to the original question ….. How to write a blog? The answer to that question .... start your blog with your keyword or keyword phrase in mind. As a blogger, one of your jobs is to integrate your chosen keyword or keyword phrase into your blog post many times (but not too many) making it sound like it belongs. Our keyword phrase is "write a blog" .... did you notice? If you did, that means we need to get better at hiding it!
Learning Any New Skill Is Easier When We Learn Together
Be easy on yourself. Like any new skill, learning how to write a blog takes time and practice. We learned how to write a blog when we became actively involved within the Mentors community. We have learned skills from leaders within the community. The leaders within the community know what it takes to be successful online. Our connection with leaders and our willingness to be coached has saved us time and stopped us from making costly mistakes.
